   Josh,
Either a Delta Uni-fence or a Biesemeyer is a bargain at $150. Open the box and look. Be sure that the rails are included.

If it is just a "Delta Fence" it may not be that much of a bargain. I'm not sure exactly what a "Delta Table Saw Fence" is. It may be something that is designed for a Delta Bench model saw.

A Biesemeyer comes in a box that is about 48" long, 4-5 inches high and about a foot wide. There should be a second box for the rails if it is the commercial fence. The home user fence may have the rails inside the box with the fence itself.

Now for the logic...

At a BORG, the saw and the fence are typically part of a single SKU. I don't understand how a BORG could have an "extra" fence. It just doesn't compute.

Delta currently has 3 aftermarket fences available, and all three are pretty well respected...T2, Unifence, Biesemeyer. All three are good values at $150. It's prolly the Delta T2, which is a lighter duty steel t-square design...sort of a "Biese Lite". The T2 is $150 retail, but goes on sale in the $125 range often. If you can get a Biese or a Unifence for $150, grab it! You might check Ebay or Craigslist for some bargains too.

You're logic is sound for a typical retail situation for a TS....fence and saw go together. But Delta is currently offering their 36-979 contractor saw with cast iron wings with a choice of no fence, or any of the above three at different price points, so "spare fence" seem to happen, especially at Lowes.

thanks for the advice guys. It is the t-2 fence. not sure why but they do have it sperate from the saw. I Was going over the display modle and it seems ok. I pushed on the far end and it flexes about 1/32. that might just be poor setup cuase the whole display saw was kinda wiggly. If not i'll inlay a t-track into my outfeed table and put a knob to lock down that end. much appreciated becuase i've been working saturdays for some extra cash for this (among so many other things)Think i'm going to go for it since my current fence is a straight board, pipe clamped to the table. It's been working ok for my pine home improvement projects but ain't gunna cut it for the hardwoods.

Hi Josh - You'll likely see neglible amounts of deflection in use. Most of the force on the fence occurs just in front of the blade where there's far less leverage force on the pivot point.

I'll never understand why the vast majority of places that sell large tools can't seem to get them assembled properly. The big box stores and Sears both seem particularly inept at tightening bolts and in some cases can't even get the tools assembled in the proper manner. On top of that, they continue to display tools with broken parts. I have seen very few Rigid 6" jointers with the cutter guard intact. If I'm looking for a tool, I'm likely to pass on one that is sloppily assembled or that has consistently broken parts on the display model. In the first case, I really can not tell how well the tool will work if it is not assembled properly, and in the second I assume that the broken part is a weakness in the design.

well i went for it. cashed in my bucket of pocket change and got the fence. Amazing how just putting my change in a can for six months saved up enough for this. Anyways, Got it installed late last night all adjusted and such. It's very solid, the wiggle must have been the store setup. Gunna make some test cuts later today

fence works great. thanks very much for the input guys. It is also very solid screwed into the wood banding around my saw/router table. the wobble must have been poor store set-up.
