Hey Christian,Just to give you an idea, I had a couple who came to the house today to buy something my wife had on Craigslist. The girl looked over on the counter and saw the Tamboti Cigar that I posted yesterday and asked about it. I told her what it was and that I made it. She asked if I would sell it and I (not really wanting to sell it) said, "Sure I will take $50 for it" Without blinking she stuck it in her purse and gave me the cash. I am only telling you this so you can see what kind of money they will/can bring. Now that was a luck kind of deal. I would have normally asked $35 for that pen. I only said $50 because it was my first cigar and I wanted to show it to a guy at work who buys lots of my pens. I took the $50 and headed down to the wood store and spent $70 on a bunch of exotic blanks and some other junk I needed/wanted. 20 in the hole is better than 70 I guess.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-28-08 AT 06:12 AM (EST) >I landed a deal from an African Blackwood pen/pencil set for >$35 which is $14.50 each (much better than my previous $8 >price) You might sell more at a higher price if you thought your work was worth your efforts. AS it is you don't seem to think much of your talents or abilities. Why don't you just give them away and chalk it up to a good feeling? (BTW $35.00 divided by two is $17.50) Founding Member of the MPG Masterful Penmaking Guy |

Good grief, Eagle. Give the guy a break. Christian, Congratulations on your sale. Since they are your pens, your time and your decision, you can sell them for whatever price you like. Besides, there's about a million people turning pens these days so it's not like they are a novelty. If I was to have several days invested in a pen, then I would certainly ask more than if I only spent an hour or so turning, finishing and assembling it. But, to each his own and if you're happy then I'm happy for you. Cody Tyler, TX
