can anyone recommend a circular saw blade for quality cutting. I need to cut pieces for making drawers and so I'm looking for minimum collateral damage.

We're talking crosscut blades, true? There hasn't been a whole lot of focus on SUPERB-quality crosscut blades, but the Makita blades are awfully good. Seems to be Freud makes some pretty decent 7-1/4" crosscutting "finish" blades, too. Shoot for a high tooth count.
I've had awfully good luck so far with Irwin's blade "Marathon" offerings. They're not what I'd normally think of as crosscut blades, but they've sure done right by me so far - especially considering the price (about ten or eleven dollars US).
They're thin-kerf, though, which makes 'em a little less stable than full-thickness blades.

Milwaukee also makes some nice blades. If you can find some old stock B&D "made in Germany" blades, they're good too. Under ten bucks makes em a good deal. If you want to go fancy or heavy duty, DML also makes industrial grade circular saw blade.

I have blades from Forrest and Freud. The Forrest blades are brutally expensive but are exceptionally good. The Freud blades are outstanding as well.
Freud's website has a great guide for choosing the right saw blade. Go to http://www.freudtools.com/woodworkers/rep/sawblades/Premier_Series/html/Premier_Series_1.html and click "Which saw blade do I need?" You can specify what type of cut, what material, and what quality finish you need and it will recommend the right blade.
I use my circular saw for veneer plywood and I've had good luck with Freud as long as I use the right blade.

I use a couple infinity blades and love them, I just looked at their website for you and they have the 40t 7 1/4 blade on sale for $23 plus an extra 3 off for web orders, that's the one I would go with. I think I will order on to!
