These style chucks definitely do not come under the 'gimmick' category. These are great tools. I think mine is a Super Nova or something like that. Anyway, the versatility is great. Now your wife has become a lathe widow.

Very cool, and it brightens up that old lathe. I'm not usually one to keep those plastic carrying cases for tools, but that one is quite nice and useful for keeping track of the pieces not being used.

Superb! That's a dang sight nicer than my first lathe chuck, used on your lathe's twin for a long long time. You've purchased there a GOOD, highly practical, tool that'll serve you well for a long time... even with the "pimp effect". :)

Got the Barracuda 2 delivered today. Been playing with it in the shop in the past 3 hrs. I like it. I don't have a frame of reference so I can't compare to others. The fit is fine. The finish is oh so gaudy, but if it keeps it from rusting in the humid salty air, I'll put up with the gaudy part.
