skill saw jigs

Ok I feel like a dope I just paid 4 bucks to download some jigs for my skillsaw and after looking at them somebody here probaly already has them in their shop. Question, I'm going to make a panel cutter which will be a 10" wide piece of hardboard with a 1X2 attached to the top surface. To create the refrence edge should I use a plywood blade or a ripping blade?

Either type of blade will work ok on thin hardboard as long as it is sharp. I usually use a new 140 tooth plywood blade. They are so cheap that after a few uses I just throw the thing away and get a new one.
