Ever have a board or sheet and needed to yeild 3,4,5,etc. number of equaly sized pieces?
Heres how. My example is a 10-7/32" wide board. I want 4 equal pieces.
Place the corner of a rule or tape on the edge of the board.
Now swing the rule so that 12" mark comes to the opposite edge/side of the board. I said I needed 4 pieces. Well 12/3=4, so
every 3" mark the board. You now have four equal divisions. Or you can do the math.
Point here is that a board or sheet can be divided for max yield and ripped before most can do the math. With a little ingenuity this can be applied to alot of situations.
I used this for laying out pegs for shelves. But I got even smarter and started using a piece of peg board.
