I have a lesser quality table saw bought a long time ago with a cheap rip fence. when I lock the fence the opposite end does no longer tightens down. It is a fence with an angled measurement scale. In other words the end where the scale is is angled so I can't replace it with just any fence. Any ideas. I don't want to purchase the same fence again.

Depends on what you wanna do eh...the logical choices are[li]Buy a new tablesaw[li]Buy a new after market fence system (perfume the pig eh...)[li]Figure out what's wrong with the fence you have and repair it[li]Construct a homemade fence. What ya wanna do?

I have a Craftsman 10" TS and had the same problem. I replaced the fence and rails with an Incra TS-III and it's like a new saw! 'Course the Incra was $350, but for the work I do it was worth every penny.

I was guessing it's a bench top...think it's one like yours maybe?
