Hi guys
I just wonder if anybody came across Craftsman air filtration system. Cost $130. Min dust size 5 micron.
Apriciate input.

My DC has 5 micron bags. Guess is that the air cleaner won't catch much that the DC didn't get first. Total cost of the Jet650 DC with PennState 5 micron bags is $300.
I'd like an air cleaner to go down to 1 micron or smaller.

Get a Jet air filtration unit. It hangs from the ceiling and is quiet. Has a remote, timer and different speeds. You can't go wrong. Avoid most of all craftsman.
Good Luck. :)

Mike,
FYI... 5 Micron's will allow really fine sawdust particles through. If that's a concern, I'd recommend at least 1 micron. Most shop vac's in fact do filter to 5 microns with optional filters that go to 1.
If you're concerned about noise of filtration level, then you may also want to check out the Fein Units. www.feinus.com
I have a Fein Turbo II.
- Extremely quite (quietest amongst vac's)
- Has an autostart AC plug for your tools
- 5 Micron Filter Standard
- 1 Micron Filter Optional ($30)
- .3 Micron HEPA Filter Optional ($79)
- Price <$250.00
Regarding the price, it's much more than the Sears unit but for what I need, it works nicely and is what's current being used by the U.S. Post office (w/ the Hepa Filter) to clean their facilities of the Anthrax virus.
