Hello
Want to put stools on my double hung windows what is the best way to attach them? It is for a brand new window in a new house glue? nails? screws?

You would do best as if it was treated the same way as a cabinet suspended from a wall. Build a hollow frame that you can fasten to wall studs with appropiate screws,using appropiate joints at the corners. Add corner blocks on each corner. Then fasten the over hanging top,from underneath as in a table top or counter top,with glue and nails or screws. Add a cove or whatever trim you prefer,between the top and frame. It will be a strong and effective seat. If its not too long or wide,I wouldn't bother with any legs.
