I'm making a headboard, and I used the self adhesive veneer from rockler for the two panels. Last night I glued it (the frame) up and everything looked fine. This morning, when I was leaving for work, I noticed that one of the panels had some bubbles under the veneer. Any idea why one panel would bubble and not the other? Any idea how to fix it?
I used hide glue, so worst case scenario, I can take the whole thing apart and redo the panel, but I would really rather avoid that.

Mat,

Did you use a veneer hammer? If not, that's more than likely the root of the problem. To solve it, use an X-Acto knife and make a small slit with the grain, the air should escape. If need be use a syringe to apply the glue...

I used a roller. When I got home from work, I made the slits and repressed the areas flat. It seemed like some of them bubbled back up over the next half hour. I made some more cuts and pressed it again. I'll see in the morning if it took this time.
Do you think this is going to continue to happen over time (ie, am I going to have to do this every 6 months)?

Thanks,
Mat

Mat,

Dunno if this will be a reoccuring problems, I've never used the "pre fab" stuff. I've always used hide glue, a veneer hammer and some sort of press or cauls...
