safe finishes

I'm looking for a finish I can use on wood bowls and mugs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

I use mineral oil and parafin wax on the cutting boards that my ninth graders make. works great! Easy to renew also.

you can go to an "organic" type food store and purchase walnut oil as well....

you can also purchase Behlen's Products for salad bowls but that is <to my understanding> just mineral oil with possible other additives.
