View Full Version : Box Joints
I'm still fairly new to woodworking and just started using box joints for some of my projects. I do not have a very good dado blade and I was wondering how to make accurate box ends with out a dado.

Go to Woodworking.com's "Around The Shop" forum and read the "Fixture" message. Your question is addressed very well there.

You need a copy of "Lynn's Box Joint Jig". It'll cut any width box joint with perfect spacing without a dado blade. It doesn't have the cumulative errors that the "pin" type jigs suffer from. You can also micro adjust the jig to make the joints "hammer it in" tight or loose enough to use as hinges.
Visit: http://www.netexperts.cc/~lambertm/Wood/lynnjig.html for the plans. Cost is probably under $10 to make from shop scraps. I use it and it works the nuts. See the projects I've been making with it (and others) at http://www.netexperts.cc/~lambertm/Wood/wood.html
