I am seeking help locating plans for building jewlery boxes, music boxes, and humidors. I would also need a source for the internal workings for the music box. Thanks, Dave

I might be able to help witht he humidor. Fine Woodworking had an artical on building them within the past year or so. It is the technique that is important with them not the plans so much. I don't smoke so I was interested only as an academic exercise.

The article mentioned in the previous post is in issue 127, the November/December issue in 1997. Thought I remembered seeing something somewhere. Hope this helps.

The Rockler catalog is full of such things. They have several different mechanisms from simple $15 units to elaboate disk players (punched metal, not CD!) that are $300 or more!

They have:
20, 18 note movements, $13 each
6, 36 note movements, $80 each
3, 50 note movements, $200 each
3, 72 note, three tune movements, $400 each
#50060 - Disk player, $240, discs are $14 ea, 8 tunes
#52064 - Music Box Plan, $13
#50104 - Music Box Kit, Walnut (movement separate), $40
etc, etc, etc,

They also have plans, materials, accessories, most anything you could want. Order their catalog thru my web page and I'll make 50¢ http://www.netexperts.cc/~lambertm/Wood/wood.html
