Anyone know of any higher end lathe reviews. I have found 2 on the poolewood and one or two on the oneway and 1 on the VB-36. Maybe I am just looking in the wrong spots or in the wrong way. Printed or electronic doesn't really matter to me either way. Thanks for all the help.

Best Regards,

Bill

Pretty good! Oh... I just noticed I said "stuck out" when I meant "struck out"... sheesh... hope that aint a freudian slip :)

I'm thinking of modifying my little Ryobi lathe by changing the mounting arrangement of the rails 90 degrees, then mounting a 120 grit stone on the lathe and making a sharpening station. I figure with the variable speed motor and the ability to move the tool rest on the rails I can somehow figure out a good sharpening system using a jig a good friend sent me :)..... don't know if it's possible or even a good thing to mount a wheel on the lathe, but that's about as far as I've gotten.

... I've only turned a couple things since my first project... 2 discs for a planter top and bottom, and a new handle for my shovel!

.... pretty inspiring eh }>

ah well... as with most things it's "when I get the time"..

...you shopping for a new lathe eh...

That sure is a pretty little darling, I'll bet she wouldn't let you quit when you wanted to...........I wonder how many pennies she costs??

Dave,

Great find on that review. I always wondered what Mr. Jordan turned on. Maybe if I had one it, would make the gap between him and I a little closer (that's my story and I am sticking to it). Did you ever get a chance to try one out. (Hopeful-jealousy that you have one of your own)

Dick,

If I remember right it is about $4500 to start and almost 6K when it gets even better. Best Regards,

Bill

Maybe we should open this one up a little. How about any reports from anyone on what they thought about a particular lathe. I can chime in latter on the Poolewood and The Oneway's if there is any interest in my humble opinion. Chime on in, ask questions about them... PS Why would you want one for about $5,000 is also an acceptable question too.

Best Regards,

Bill
