I would think that the shallower angle of the sole could pose a problem with bending the iron if left in that configuration. The problem could be remedied by moving the frog foward so that it is in line with the very end of the opening in the sole. If this doesn't allow the iron to fit leaving at least some light in front of it, then I would file that slope in the sole a bit steeper on the back side.

I flattened out the frog on the unknown plane where needed and the flattened out where the frog connects to the base. I installed frog and they fit like the drawing below. Is this correct? The frog is at 45 degrees and the mouth looks to be at 30 degrees. There is a gap between the frog and the mouth.
BTW, the crack on the left side goes all the way through but has moved the side only a few thousands of an inch tworads the inside of the plane. Will this affect the usage of this plane very much?
