During renovation of a 2nd floor bedroom in our 200 year old timber frame (braced post and beam) house, we found a hornet's nest that was about 30 inches wide and 50 or so inches high between the posts of the back wall. It almost entirely filled the void between the two post uprights. Eeeeeeowwwwww!

After sending my wife out of the house I discovered it to be NLI (no longer inhabited). Wheeeeeeeew!

Boy, I don't think anybody makes enough "moon suit" to make me comfortable about learning whether it was still occupied...

...nor a long enough pole. :)

While removing the old cabinets from my mom's kitchen, my brother found the following "anamoly".

The critters had been evicted/sprayed about 5 years ago and their entrace sealed, so this is inactive. :)
