Very Cool, Mark! Let's see, 360 divided by 52 = 6.9230, divided by 2 = 3.4615 degrees. Got to be tenascious to stick to that for so very many little pieces to cut. :)
Great Job!

Thanks Jer. Yep, it was a pain. The hardest part was getting EXACT lengths so when combined it would equal the full ring. That did not happen on the first try!

I will admit my ignorance (does that mean I am a heathen?) What does it tell you and why three hands?

Not at all John! I am a priest and I had no idea what the three hands were for until I read about the design!
The three hands point to the three great feast in the Christian year: Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.

HI all,
Been busy, busy, busy, so not much time to post, but I have been lurking for a bit now to try and keep abreast.
Completed this project yesterday. It took some doing! Math is NOT my friend. Getting a straight stick of wood to wrap around a circle with 7” radius in 52 equal segments (which fit down into a dado) took some noodle scratching. The base is 19.5” in diameter. It is made from 3/4” Baltic Birch plywood.
The colors represent the season of the liturgical (worship) year. The five week season of Lent (plain with black stripe) looks like the chasuble (garment a priest wears to preside at Holy Communion. The arrows point to to the three great feasts: Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.
The model comes from Godly Play, a Montessori approach to Sunday school.
Blessings,
