I don't think you could have come up with a better solution. That looks perfect for the rustic barn environment. Very well done.

A freind of mine needed a place to put thier rather large collection of books that have taken over their house. They decided they wanted to turn one of the lofts in their barn into a library. They asked me to put something in for them that was inexpensive with some character to it

I decided to go with rough cut pine. I didn't want to do dado joints because I thought they might be too dull looking. My original thought was square through tenons but considering the number of shelves that would have been pretty time consuming. To get a simliar look I decided to go with large shelf pins.

This is whats done so far. They may need more shelving but now there is an argument between them. He wants short shelves as the railing. She feels that will interfear with the view of the barn from the loft. I decision will be made after they determin how much more shleving they will need.
