That turned out really nice. I like the way you chamfered the edges of the top.

Thanks for the up close picture, it shows the shadow lines of a well made sturdy table.

Nice clean line with no fancy doo dads to it.

This table will probably get well used.

Your sister in law will probably love it.

Table looks good with the difference in woods. Clean lines, very sturdy appearance. Very natural looking finish.

Here is another piece I built for my sister in law. This is a simple coffee table, that I built in a few nights. It is made of soft maple with birch ply for the main section of the table top. It is finished with several coats of simple spray-can polyurethane (for speed and convenience).

Because I was under a time crunch to build this, I resorted to fast pocket screws for most of the joinery, reinforced with polyurethane glue. Surprisingly, it seems every bit as sturdy as projects I've built with traditional joinery.
