Just thought I'd share the first project done on the new scrollsaw.
Don't know how many scrollers are out there, and don't see many finished scrollsaw works here on the forum. 9"x13" Natural edge piece of cherry.
Hopefully it's cut well enough you can make out what it is :P

Oh, did I mention we have hardwood as well?

That's a lot of blade feed throughs. Looks great - but I can't tell if this is a bull riding event or a cow riding event! ;) And why is there a smile on the bull/cow's face?
Really, it's a great looking piece! Did you get the new saw broke in?

As someone who has ridden a bull or two, they got great enjoyment stomping my skinny a$$ in the ground. So not only have I seen them smile, I swear a couple were even laughing.....

Brad that looks really nice.
I did a carosel horse out of some 1/4 luan ply for the fun. I thought it came out nice for a first time around - but not as nice as yours.
Looks really good.

That looks great. My wife would like to do scroll work but hasn't had the time yet. . . or a saw.

You suck!
You get a dang scroll saw and your first project looks like you've been doing it forever. :)
Seriously, that's very nice, Brad. I like both the subject (I got on a few bulls when I was young and dumb) and that NE Cherry framing it. Good job.
Doug, I'll bet if you could see the back side you would realize that's a bull. }>

Thanks Y'all!
I'm not sure which I enjoy the most....finding a picture I like and turning it into a pattern, or the scroll sawing!

Doug,
I think it's broken in. I do have a bit of a delima with the table...I can't get the blade centered in the tear drop hole(it's over to the right a little), and I can't get the table to go all the way back into it's mount. To be honest, I didn't miss with it much, I get it square to the blade and starting making sawdust! :D

Joe, Dale.... I think Leo has a scroll saw for sale. :P

Cody,
This ain't my first rodeo! LOL...I've cut several other things with my old SS. This is the first with the new DeWALT.
Oh....when you say "NE Cherry" you do mean North East Texas, right?
cause that's where it came from, yer neck of the woods.

Brad,
That is very nice!
If you go to http://www.scrollsaws.com, there is a lot of information about tuning up various scrollsaws.

Looks really good, I like your natural edge board gives it lots of character. My son has done a bunch of scrollsaw work, so far he has mostly made clocks. [link:www.MikesPhotos.ZachsProjects.photoshare.co.n z|son's scrolling]
