I just finished 6 of these for gifts. Took about two months, with my typical 1-3 evenings a week in the shop. The wood is all African mahogany - but I strategically used certain lighter boards in intentional places for design purposes - I didn't have any wood to spare! 12" high, 10" wide, and 4" deep. The back is a mahogany plywood panel held in place with turnbuttons, like the back of a picture frame. All clock components are from Klockit.com
Of course the lousy picture doesn't show the luminous striping in the wood. The finish is one coat os super blonde shellac followed by three wipe coats of satin polyurethane, sanded at 300 grit between coats. The clocks really glow.

That project got to the point that it felt like a chore. Now on to other things that I *want* to do. My lathe is calling me....
