My wife requested a new daybed for Valentines day and here it is. The design is my own and it's all oak. The legs are made out of the posts in the back of a 100 yr old upright grand piano. The rest is was made from wood that I dried in my kiln then milled. The finish so far is minwax golden oak stain. I will probably finish it with either tung oil or spar varnish.

The dims are 82" X 45" and it's 34" to the top of each leg.

Man, that's sharp looking!

Where does it go from here? Do you put slat across and lay a conventional matress on it, or what? I'm kind of dumb when it comes to these things.

Very ,very nice. I built one last fall, got it in the den. I had to make mind solid to hid the boxsprings. My wife loves it to death. Twin mattress with throw pillows on all three sides. My granddaugther uses more than anyone else as a trampoline. Now you've got a place to go to sleep instead of the dog house. DAVID

Slats finish the job. If you look closely at the bottom of the back you will see (barely) a 1" rail that runs the length. I have several 1" thick, 6" wide slats for a mattress to be placed upon. No boxspring required. Thanks for asking.

I hope things go well for you Paul.
