Grizzly and Harbor Freight both sell a 17" bandsaw that look identical in their pictures. The price is also the same at $799.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these units?

Grizzly is definitely better.

But if you're looking at band saws in that size range, you should really do yourself a favor and check out the 18" Rikon. I got one this spring and couldn't be happier.

Whichever brand you buy, be sure to get TimberWolf blades. Makes a good bandsaw even better.

I have the G0513 and couldn't be happier... never did a side by side comparison against the HF model though...

General International also sells identical looking bandsaws.

I still can't remember the difference and someone just told me, but one uses cast iron fly wheels and the other cast aluminium. Some differences in tyre types too, though it's been a while since I was looking at them.

Theres little differences like that.

I'll second that on the 18 inch Rikon and the Timberwolf blades!

I decided years ago I was only going to have two types of days...
Very Good Days :) :) :) or just Plain Good Days :) :). I just refuse to have bad ones!!!

May you have at least a Good Day today, Jeff
