....I think.

I started woodworking about 5 yrs. ago and have a very deep passion for the "ART". The family is amazed at what I am able to make and have made numerous gifts, all the living room tables, currently doing my daughters bedroom set etc. I have a drill press, dust collection, lathe, jointer, and planer along with the hand tools. But, no table saw. For 5 yrs. I have been taking a WW class at the local community college where I can use all the equip. ( TS ) and make whatever I want. In 10 semesters I've been productive.

Last week my mom called to say I was in the local paper regarding unclaimed funds from the state. I checked it out and it is the proceeds from a matured life ins. policy they took out on each of us 4 kids when we were born to pay the funeral expense in case things went wrong. Keep in mind this was 46 yrs. ago and the state wants to send a check for about $600.

Anyway, I was thinking how do I convince my wife to let me take another $600 and get a cabinet saw when we have 2 kids in college. When I was on the phone with her today she asked if I had enough for a saw and I said I needed another $600. Keep in mind I never provoked this conversation. She then blurted out that the tax return would be her and maybe I should start looking.

....think I died and went to heaven.

So, I'm thinkin' about the Griz 1023Z. Can't get the 50 inch rails due to the size of my shop.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to get? I've asked this before but now it may be for real.

Dale, don't post any responses until you look at the top of this one, OK? Look at the post number.

Gives me a little chill. THAT, my friend, is EXACTLY the number you want to see when you're playing the one-armed bandit at a casino. THAT POST, Dale, was Number 7 7 7.

NOW do you feel lucky? I feel lucky WITH you, FOR you.

The post alone was enough to tighten my throat. Yes, it's time for you. Go for it.

Pinch yourself real hard, Dale. If the skin don't come off, you're probably not dead yet. If it hurts, it safe to say you for sure aren't dead yet.
Anyway, yeah, if you would like the Grizz, I'd say go for it. It has a lot of good reports behind it.
And you probably won't use 50" rails even if you did have them. I do have them and I don't use them. But they do hold the side table onto the TS, and it has my router stations in it. It's a long story....

Great news! :)
