My tax return is prepared but I won't mail it (with the check) until April 15th. No sense giving the fed MORE of my money until necessary.

Got my refund in February. I guess there a bit more motivation when they took too much of YOUR money!

Well.........
We filed on Feb 12, bus as the end of last week, nothing. So I wnet to the IRS web site and they never saw the return. I checked with the CPA and evidently there was a problem so they electronically filed me again on Mar 31. Yesterday the IRS said that my refund should be mailed on April 15.
Now the state says (Paraphrasing) We can't find our a$$ with both hands, there is a severe shortage of TP so check back in a week.

We did ours last Sunday, the 31st. We're (the wife and I) self employed and pay quarterly. I agree with Cody, why let them have it sooner rather than later.
Thanks ~Mike

Just started working on them. I am the ultimate procrastinator, I have the entire 2007 year's worth of receipts and records to sort, enter into the computer, then complete the taxes before that dreadful day. The one thing that is no fun about running a home base business....record keeping. No worries, I will get it done in time.....always do.

Basically I have mine finished. Just need another day or so (ie, find time) to review before I file.

I get money back almost every year so I always do the taxes in the beginning of Feb. and then if I'm getting back, I send in immediately and if I owe, save the mail until 4/14.
I thought this thread was going to be "How will you spend your return" (if any). Im my case, I'm remodeling my master bath, so the return$$ will go into that.

I did mine the other day with one of the free online services. Sent it in electronically only to find out the federal government thinks I was born 4 days later than what my mother remembers...and my birth certificate say. Let's see....who could be wrong. So I have to mail it in. (Isn't that great, they haven't cared for 34 years and now it is an issue.) Getting $1000++ back but not much incentive. I'm independently wealthy; have more money than I know what to do with.
Any body need some?

After the capital loss of $18K on my rental property, I filed early to get back about $6200. Most of it is in the bank where it'll stay.

Finished mine a few weeks back . . . complete and total failure, I'm getting money back both from the IRS and the Commonwealth.
A little bit (under $1,000 total is acceptable to me . . . anything more and I feel I planned poorly . . . . this year, I planned REALLY poorly . . . I'd rather have had what amounts to a decent new car payment in my account the 12 months of '07 . . . instead I get it all at once. Grrrrr . . .
