Anyone have any good ideas on how to store extra bandsaw blades?

Once you have them folded, use two wire twist-ties - one on each side of the triple loop - and hang 'em on a nail or wooden shaker peg or what have you. They store well after they're folded, and they don't mind being hung on a nail.

If you're talking HUGE bands - like the 4"x12' ones - they kind of stand by themselves; even the double-edged ones stand that way, like a car tire standing on its tread. They sag a long way in the middle, but it works well for the biggies.

You're probably talking about shop sizes, though - so the fold & twist-ties & nail thing works fine.

I hang mine at the end of the shop in the eves on the back wall. Every time I try to wrap them in the nice little circle, I usually end up bleeding :), so its easier and safer to just store them in their expected format. Its easier on the blade, and I don't get hurt....

Double twist to make a three-part circle and then hang them on 6" long wooden dowels that I placed in the shop wall. I secure mine with a few wraps of blue tape since I usually manage to lose the twist ties.

I'm thinking of making a compartmentalized open-front wall cabinet for storing them. Nothing wrong with hanging on the wall but the cabinet wil look cool. :)

When you are ready to use the stored bandsaw blade, an old timer once taught me to untie the coiled blade and drop it on the floor. It uncoils real nice and no cuts on the digits.

Agree with Tyler.

I use these clips. When folded over they hold the blade nicely and provide a place to hang them by. Picked this tip up in one of the recent WW mags.
