I would like to buy a Knee length (or there about) shop coat. I have checked a lot of catalogs and can't seem to find one.

Any suggestions?

Like a turner's apron, or like a lab coat, or like something else? Heavy, ultra-light, or middlin'?

Try a dog pet supply store or site. The dog groomers use them for cutting dog hair and bathing dogs. They are nylon and shed hair and water.

Try sources for other trades. I remember working with a couple of gunsmiths that wore heavy blue cotton shop coats. A general industrial supply house like McMaster-Carr would probably have one.

I would think twice about wearing a shop coat in a shop full of power equipment. I do not even wear long sleeves nor a wrist watch or ring in mine. Too much risk of beeing "grabbed" by one of those tools.

I bought an apron from Woodcraft a couple years ago that goes down to about 3" above my knee. It keeps most of the dust off and you don't have to worry about it getting caught in anything.
