Wondering about buying used equipment or a particular brand...go ahead and ask! Had an "experience" with an on- or off-line retailer? Tell it like it is! And feel free to join any conversation.

I have the chance to buy an older 20 inch CLausing Atlas brand drill press. I would be using it for use in a luthier/violin shop. Any one out there with any comments on these drill presses?

I have a project that requires laminating a sandwich support beam consisting of 2x10 stair tread material(doug fir)between pieces of 1/2" baltic birch. This will be part of a system of support trusses for a base for a 1200 pound bronze statue. I wanted to use "Gorilla glue" to glue the baltic birch to the 2x 10's before stapelling. I would like to find out the manufacturers specs for this glue in regards to strength, etc.
Where can I look on the internet to find out more about this product? ie., Gorilla glue.
thanks-
B. Harper

My 15 year old Grizzly 14" bandsaw gave up the ghost last weekend. (It is not a great loss since it has never been much of a machine!) I'm interested in others experiences with different brands - particularly Delta vs Jet. I use the saw mostly for utility work and a modest amount of resawing.

Thanks
Clark

Enjoy the new forum, but have acuriosity. Why do some replies show up immediately, while others are listed numerically, but take awhile. Computer Gremlins ?

I bought the Jet 14" and it does just what I want it to. I added the riser block for some extra resaw room. It is working very well for me. The fence is OK but nothing to write home about. Hopefully an aftermarket fence will fit that is taller and sturdier. (at least solid) For now though, it is a good price for feature. I did have to realign the motor shive and go through all the adjustments. It's not an industrial tool but for my use it is great.

We're still working out a few bugs...thought that one seems to be a problem in a lot of newsgroups and forums. I think it has to do with the different speed of the servers your post passes through on the way.

Thanks for asking and stay in touch!
