recently retired and able now to do much more with woodworking.
very limited workshop space. saw a ryobi BT300sx system at costco the other day for nice price.....10" saw, miter table and router combo (includes router)with roller stand. anyone have any familiarity with this thing? quality? or know of any magazine that's done a review on it? i lean against 'multi' tools but this seems worth considering it seems.... if i decide against it, i'll probably start with a dewalt 744 HD portable 10" saw.
thanks.

Hi Marc,
I have a Ryobi BT3000, and in general am very happy with it. The only negatives to mention would be that the sliding table will bump into the optional outfeed table (if you purchase it) when doing large miter cuts on very wide boards. I use an Incra mitre fence (with Ryobi's optional mitre slot table attachment)and have cut a slot in the outfeed table to allow cut-through on wide boards, and that took care of the problem. The mitre fence that comes standard with the Ryobi is pretty accurate, but the blade angle adjustment is shakey, and I would advise checking the blade when you angle it with a supplemental gauge. Overall, the saw has worked well for me, especially when I replaced Ryobi's blade with a Woodworker II from Forrest.
