    Aha!...I'm first!

    I feel so special...hehee...lets see...what do I say...dang, I aint new to woodworking...uhh...oh! How come HSS stays sharp so long on planer and jointer knives but dulls so fast on router bits?

    In a word Heat. The router is in almost constant contact with the material. The others give the edge time to cool.
