I'm thinking about buying a laser level for some framing work and whatever else the wife wants done. Many say they are accurate at 1/4 inch over a hundered feet and thats fine for what I need. Does anyone have any input on these tools? I would like a price point around $150.00 but would go either way with any good arguments.
Mine is at a different price point, $40. But it does have both the dot and the line. It does not have the strobe line effect though. If that suits your uses, try technatool. If not, I have no further experience to offer more.
It is really tough to get an inexpensive level level with a bubble glass. Also, 1/4" in 100' is really sloppy work. I'd tell my framers to go home if that was the closest they could get to spec.
Good levels, laser or visual are self leveling and have complicated plumbing devices in them. That why it is possible to get better than 1/16" in 100' accuracy - for about $500.00 minimum.
I would try to find a surveyors supply in town and rent a good unit for the day.
Thank you for your input. I purchased a Robosquare at $100.00. I bought from a trusted dealer who also sells similar units into the $1,000's. The size and quality of the dot make up the 1/4 inch var. I plan on playing with some optics and filters to see if I can get a cleaner point. Anyway, it does suit my needs and I feel comfortable using it. Thanks again.
I am remodeling my kitchen and would like help to choose the right kind of material for the countertop. It is the central part of the look and so is most important to choose the best.
Folks,
A guy I knew back from high school now owns the company he dad started. He is a HUGE firearm admirer like I am. He wanted a firearm display case in his office along one wall, but that wall...
I have to replace one of my doors soon. Your information will definitely give me an insight. Now thinking of buying a fiberglass door, what's your opinion on it?
