Incra TS Fence
Need all your expert opinions. What do you think of the eBay item below? Its an Incra TS fence, I think the old style not the new TS-III. I am thinking of replacing my Xacta fence on my Jet contractors saw. Am adding a router table extension and thinking of getting this fence or a TS-III as well as one of the Incra joinery packages to go on it. What would your "do not exceed" price on it be?

Thanks!!

RE: Incra TS Fence
IMHO, it's already near the max. A NEW TS3a goes for $399 at [link:www.woodpeck.com/tssystems.html|Woodpeckers]. Besides, this one needs a new rail as someone has cut it off.

RE: Incra TS Fence
Rule of thumb on used gear is 50% max. I don't see the mounting rails. Those black things are NOT Incra stock. Incra rails are gold anodized like the rest. Those are Incra mounting blocks but that is NOT a set of Incra rails.
I got my TS-III brand new at WoodCraft for $350 and no shipping (I did pay 6% local sales tax). Based on that a really *complete* Incra with rails should sell for no more than about $175.
The fine print on the Incra also says that the "lifetime guarentee" on the positioning racks only applies to the original owner.
Pass.

RE: Incra TS Fence
After looking at it closely I sort of came to the same conclusion. I have looked at picture after picture of others set up and those on the Incra site and I have always noticed the gold rails, these are black. I also didnt understand 1)why it was cut "to make the fence fit" I think is how it reads and 2)how you could replace it "at the local hardware store". I will pass on it. I think there are some things that its not worth trying to save a few bucks on when you can buy it new for not terribly much more than used/auction. Thanks guys!

RE: Incra TS Fence
Still 5 days to go. The price will definitely go up because someone out there will think this is a full-featured TSIII version.

RE: Incra TS Fence
Looks like it'd run about $189 + shipping at Woodpeckers to upgrade it to a TS-III system including new 92" rails. I'd just buy a new one and have the warranty.
