    Circular Saw

    Hey Everybody,

I have always used a right handed saw, but I keep reading statements from guys that the best saw for a right handed person is a left handed one because you can see and follow your line better. This does make sense to me but is it true? I would also like to know if using the opposite handed saw makes any difference in the saftey of it?

    I appreciate all comments,
    Jay

    RE: Circular Saw

Most circular saws are made to be used by either right or left-handed folks. Both like having the blade on one side or the other as well.
Though I am right handed, I like having the blade on the left side of the saw as I can see it better. I do have a right-bladed saw that also feels very good to me so now I am confused and keep them both!

I am right handed and prefer the blade on the left side. I find it easier to use and follow a line.

    RE: Circular Saw

I saw right-handed... and my left eye is the only functional one I've got... and I like the blade to be on the RIGHT side of the saw.

    RE: Circular Saw

I'm right handed, and my only skil saw is a righty with the main body hanging over to the left.

The body hangs over so far and so low that most straight edges I'd like to use as guides get in the way of it sitting straight on the board I'm cutting.

I could clamp to the right I supose, but it just never felt comfortable to me, and unlike Tim, my good eye is my left :D.

If I could do it again, I'd go the other way around, and may do...who knows.

    Rob.
