    miter gauge Jessum/Incra/???

    I finally got a great Delta Unisaw and I am now looking at upgrading from the standard miter gauge to something with a lock down and accurate angle setting.
    So far Jessum and Incra both seem to have excellent miter gauges with the extended bars. Any input???

    I have the Incra 2000 miter guage. I wish i had gotten the one with flip stop instead of just the shop stop, but otherwise i love that guage.

    You might want to consider the Kreg too. Mine was dead on right out of the box.

    Jessem got the blue ribbon on two reviews I saw in two mags.
    Personally, I would build my own.

    I'm just curious, as I've never owned something like this. I've been considering one since repeatability is going to be a big issue for me in the near future. What I'm wondering is for the average hobbyist, what's the appeal? The ones I've looked at have all been upwards of $300 and I'm curious as to why someone would want to spend this amount on something you don't really need. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with using or having one, just curious as to why.

    PK,

    The Jessum normally sells for 200+ which is why I went with the Kreg. The Jessum allows the fence to be extended to 36" and the Kreg only goes to 24", but I wouldn't normally use a miter gauge to cut something that long. Amazon's current price for the Kreg is $140.

    I should have said $200. The Incra in the Grizzly catalogue was the one that really caught my eye. It certainly looks impressive.

    Don't mean to hijack, but what is the general opinion of Incra products? Can they all be trusted? I am considering buying both a miter gauge (1000 or 27, not sure how light I want my wallet feeling) and some track for a CSM table I recently built. Just wanted to know if that company could be my one-stop source. Maybe I'd be better looking at Jessum...

    The reason for upgrading to a better miter gauge is obvious, the ones that come with ALL tablesaws are pure junk.
