RE: plug cutters....
Definitely worth the money if you need tapered plugs. They work great, if you can cut the plugs from like grain. For repair work, I cut a shaped pattern in the stock that kind of goes along with the grain, then I carve a fitted piece of wood to the pattern and glue it in. There is less of a defined line for the repair.

I've been using a set of those for years. Well worth the $$$. Never have to worry about matching wood colors at all.

RE: plug cutters....
The cutters are nice to have... very much so if you're in the need for 'em. The chuck (the oversold one) is a do-without, since they can be used in your drill press's chuck. It's not like you'll ever need quick-change plug cutters... :)

RE: plug cutters....
Thanks fellas got some yesterday. Worked great. It's hard to find walnut plugs with the exact shade of red that I am using. Easier to cut your own.
