John - welcome to the forum.

Would love to know how you make out with your saw.

    Thank you for your review.

I read the manual and attempted to make the necessary adjustment. Much to my chagrin, after nudging the loosened trunnion, tightening the bolts actually moved the trunnion back where it started. Called the Jet support line and did reach a person that actually sounded like he had worked with this problem before. His explanation was the star washers transfer rotational torque, where some of the angular energy ends up moving the trunnion, which in my case was back to the initial setting. Well, that caused a real big 'Drats!' moment. Second attempt at alignment, I tightened the bolts on the other end of the trunnion, then the remaining bolts. Still didn't work. Third try finally succeeded. We did this by removing one of the bolts close to the blade access hole, and using a C-clamp from the top to anchor the trunnion until the other bolts were tightened.

From the runout gauge, the tuning took the outage to .003".

I'm glad it finally worked out. As stated earlier, I really like the workmanship and features on this saw, and hope to build many furniture projects with it.

I bought a Jet ProShop with my tax refund this year. It's a very nice saw. I bought the one with the 52" fence and side table but bought it with the steel wings. Price? $999 on sale. After the saw was delivered and I assembled it, I decided I really wanted the CI wings on both sides. I ordered 2 from WMH and when they came I replaced the steel wings with the CI wings. I'm very pleased with the power and stability of the saw and the included fence is nice too. The fence is a bit fussy to adjust but overall works well. Two comments come to mind. I haven't had a lot of time to use the saw but have completed a couple of small projects with it. In the 7 or so months since I bought it, the blade has gone out of alignment with the miter slot. I just installed a PALS kit from Inline Industries and got it back to 0 degrees to the miter slot. The fence has extruded aluminum faces and I've found they are not perfectly flat. I called Jet tech support and they told me that the readings I got were within their specs. Now that I have the blade aligned I plan to make new faces out of 3/4 inch melamine board. All that will take is milling a slot on the back side for a t-track and I also plan on cutting a t-track near the top on the face for hold downs, stop blocks, etc. May also make a universal rip fence fixture and rip fence sled as suggested by Jim Tolpin in his Table Saw Magic book. Also, the miter square supplied with the saw is (imho) barely adequate. It may be possible to make some mods to it that would improve it but instead I bought an Incra 1000HD and may use the Jet miter gauge elsewhere in the shop.

The one annoying thing is that the saw arrived .013" off with regards to blade parallel to t-slots. I am now working on trying to resolve this problem, but the manner in which this is accomplished is rather labor intensive and somewhat requires an acrobatic body. I would like to adjust this down to .003 or less. We'll see.

Order a PALs kit from Inline industries. Takes about and hour to install but is well worth it. It only costs $19.95 but makes adjusting the balde a piece of cake. I just installed mine and I have 0 degrees difference front to rear using a master Plate. The right side is a little fussy to reach since it's so close to the side of the cabinet but by sawing about 3/8 inch off the included allen wrench I was able to reach it.

    which Pals kit?

I'm new to woodworking and just purchased the JET Pro shop hybrid saw. The in-line industries website doesn't have a email/phone number to contact for questons. Did you get the 8MMLB Pals kit?

I just purchased a Jet ProShop table saw with the 30" fence. Price was lots more than $600. The cast iron model was $1400 with 2 sets of really nice clamps. So far I love it.

Does anyone have a solution for an out-feed table?
