In the market for a 10" sliding compound miter saw, and reviews seem to really praise the Bosch 4410. Amazon's price is about $600 (ouch) so I looked in Lowe's just to see what they had, and while they didn't have the 4410, they had the Bosch 5812 - a 12" double bevel SCMS. Looks like it has most all of the features of the 4410, but it's a 12" -- and it's $539, cheaper.
But I couldn't find any reviews on the 5812 anywhere, couldn't even get a hit on a Google search. Not even on the Bosch web site. Anyone know what's up with this model? Is it something made specially for Lowes with something cheapened up on it? Or something discontinued? Any good?

Disregard - it's actually the 5312 model at Lowes. By looking over specs and features, it appears to just be the 12" version of the 4410. Heavy duty and user friendly. I went ahead and bought it at the special price. Used it today, starting to build a fence on a slope, custom miter angles. Worked great. Heavy though, so also got a Porter Cable miter saw stand to mount and transport the saw.

I've been using the Bosch 4410L for years and had the regular 4410 before that (sold that one to get the new one "just because") and am still very happy with it. Still cuts clean and square every time. I love being able to dial in tiny adjustments when making odd angle cuts.
I think you are going to like that saw for a long time.
Thanks, Tom, so far it's great. Used for 2 days running, cut like a charm.
