Table saw arbors
I have a 10" Craftsman table saw and just purchased an 8" Freud Super Dado capable of cutting a 29/32" dado. The arbor on my saw, however, is too short to accomodate the larger dados. Where can I find a longer replacement?

you must have the portable one, I have the portable DeWalt. I believe that they can only cut dados somewhere in the 3/8" range. You can not get enough of the nut on to safely operate the 3/4". If you find out different, or have another comment, please let me know.

It sounds like you have a direct drive benchtop model......
Good News!!: You can secure a replacement arbor that will allow you to use the wider dado settings from General, Jet, Delta, Grizzly, et al
Bad News!!: The "replacement" arbor comes as part of a new belt drive contractor's saw....:)
sorry but most direct drives (key word = most) will not allow you the additional width you desire

Thanks for your response. Actually my saw is a Craftsman Contractor series belt drive, model 113.298031. I've tried contacting Craftsman but with no success. All they have is the original replacement arbor.

You may want to contact Emerson who probably built that saw for Sears.
I don't know if they would have an arbor that could be switched out for yours or not. Won't know if ya don't ask.
