Gang,

I often use old and tired beltsander belts as a strop.
They're also great for working out the nicks of hard working chisels that might catch a nail, demolition doesn't require the finest edge. They also work great for sharpening a carpenters pencil. I sharpen mine with a longer bevel to one side. This way you can scribe acurately by laying the pencil flat against the adjacent object. Another thing I've done with tired belts is use them as if you were buffing a shoe if you just want to "break" the egde
Belts that have torn before their time I salvage into squares to fit a sanding block.
That is, when my plumber friend isn't raiding my junk box for them.
You have any uses for them?
