    makita 2040 planer Need Parts

    I have a Makita 2040 planer that I inherited from my father. It is in need of repair and the guys at Makita quoted over $500.00
    CDN for the parts. The biggys are the feed roller, $280.00 and the drive belt $102.00. Does any one know it you can get aftermarket parts and where. Canadian suppliers would be great.

    Cool makiata 2040 planer parts

    I would like to know where you got the drive belt for $102 or does anyone know where they an be bought cheaper, I am having trouble finding them

    $102 is a good price.

    I buy Makita parts from Louis Williams & Sons. The belt for a 2040 is 225046-7 and costs $202us. I just ordered 2 belts for my old 2012NB planer. I am glad they are only $13 and change.

    www.beltsforanything.com has belts for the 2040 Makita planer for $21.80 plus $2.00 shipping. It is a 4050J8.
