Nice job! Making one of these is in my future as well. Any more pictures??? I like the idea of bench top. I am real limited on space so I would like to be able to move it around to suit my needs. I like the looks of yours.

Cut it, Shape it, Sand it to fit, Then two weeks later the humidity changes the size and shape if it. This wood stuff makes me insane.

    RE: More ideas?

    Jacko,

I shall email you some pictures of exactly what my plans were for this table. Some things, like the two "channels" across the router section of the table were done on the fly as I realized that dust would get into areas I did not want it to because of the openings I had to make for the extension wing rails. I still need to get the main door mounted, make two drawers to hold things and cut a longer piece of 2.5" hose to finish off the dust collection system. The only thing I still worry about is with the router's quick change system. Hopefully that issue will resolve itself quickly because this new table goes into the fray next week when I start building some cabinets and doors for a neighbor's kitchen...

Very nice job on the router table. I bought one of them bench type router tables and I'm not happy with it at all. I might try to make one this summer. So yours is helpful for a plan. Thanks

Other than the fence adjuster, just one other thought.
Do you have above and below the table dust collection?
I made my own fence arrangement and use the hollow of it connected to the under cabinet box to suck away all the cuttings.
Top and bottom dust collection by the DC system, one gate, both places. Keeps those cuttings under control for me. :7

    Sonny,

Top and bottom dust collection was already put into the table when it was built. I just have to put in a longer piece of 2.5" hose to connect from the wye to the lower dust port...

    More ideas?

    Folks,

I just got done building my router table to the point where I can use it, thought it still lacks some things I want for it. A picture is below. I am going to build a fence micro-adjuster for it and put on the extension wings, but can anyone suggest any other ideas I should look into prior to actually finishing the unit? I have put in the following items in the table already:

    - Jessem/Rockler Mast-R-Lift for a PC 7518
    - Rockler Fence, featherboards and bit protector
    - Rockler Table Switch
    - Table itself is two layers of .75" birch plywood 36" long by 24" deep topped by white laminate with an oak edging all around
    - Cabinet is 15" tall with a central compartment for the router with some bevel pieces in the corners to direct dust into the vacuum opening
    - Eliminator chuck for fast bit changes
    - Miter track
    - Extension Wing support rails ( wings are just not attched yet)

Now here is what I am going to add in shortly:

    - About to make up some deep, tall fence boards from 11/4 maple to handle when doing vertical raised panels and large bit work
    - Going to slot the fence boards to accept UMHW inserts to form a zero clearance plate
    - Make up a metal shroud to better enclose the dust collection port behind the bit for better dust control
    - Aforementioned fence micro-adjuster

Please let me know what you think...
