i was thinking about building something for the bathroom in our house but was wondering about the added humidity that comes with the room; did you do anything special when finishing the one you made? and if so, what?

I just put Minwax Golden Oak, And a clear coat on it . Its been about 2 years and it could use another clear coat on it .
What's the matter with you? You tell us all about a cabinet and
you don't give us a picture? That's like showing candy to a kid
and not letting him have any.:P

Ive built a lot of projects, anything from Armoire, to Gun Cabinets, to step stools for the kitchen. But my favorite is a cabinet i built for my bathroom it didnt come from a plan just kinda drew it up on my own. Its a wall mounted cabinet about 12 inches deep made out of oak. It has 3 shelves on inside and sliding doors in the front. How come there"s not many woodworking plans with sliding panel in them. I made mine about a year ago and it seems to work fine.

Poplar is okay if they are to be painted. If not, or stained, I would not choose poplar. It is soft, uninteresting and does not finish well (unless painted). Oak or maple are not that much more...
