weird bubbles from finish
hi all,
so im applying some basic satin clear coat on some vertical FIR. i did some 320 sanding after the first coat and applied the 2nd coat with no fuss.
then i did NOT sand the 2nd coat and went ahead and applied a 3rd coat.
immediately i noticed some weird tiny bumps all over that made the wood shimmer and shine like a piece of mineral.
i used varathane satin clear coat with a high density foam roller brush.
does anyone have any idea about whats the story with this and how to prevent?
thanks!

RE: weird bubbles from finish
If you by chance shook the can instead of stiring that could be the problem. If shaken those little bubbles could be there for good. Might need to replace the can and stir not shaken like 007 or whom ever.

RE: weird bubbles from finish
I'd bet the foam roller is your culprit. I had a simillar experience on a hot day with poly and pressure on the roller gave me tiny air bubbles all over a table top. It made me a BIG fan of making my own wiping varnish that goes down like a dream in thin light coats.
