I have just acquired a beautiful piece of bookmatched, spalted maple. It is on the small side, but I wish to incorporate it into a small sofa/side table design. I was going to surround it with black walnut, mitered at the corners, but I am thinking that that might not be wise. Am I better off building a breadboard end for the piece to allow for seasonal wood movement, especially with two different species of wood?

Thanks in advance,

Bill
