LAST EDITED ON Sep-07-01 AT 01:23AM (CDT)[p]My wife and I have always wanted a pine log bed, and i recently gained access to about 240ft of pine logs most of wich are 10 to 16 ft long and range from 8-12 inches in diameter. I would like to find some plans for building the bed.Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I know the feeling. My wife and I are the same way. We love the old rustic look. My wife was born and raised in Alaska,I lived there for about 5 years, and now we live in the hot southwest. what a change.. as far as plans,I havent found any plans but Rockler has log furniture kits, and the tools to cut the tennons. They also have a book or two on rustic furniture.here's their website..... www.rockler.com
Look at various ads in Log Homes Illustrated...you'll find several companies which may help with plans, procedures, tools, etc...also, see my response above on this page in. re. "tenons for log furniture".
Try this URL. I took a few pics off it and made some log furniture. I purchased the powere tenions from Lee Valley Tools. I believe you will enjoy this web site. I also sent off for their prices. Good thing I was lying down when I read them...Brad
