Oh yes, vinyl fence is cost effective especially since you don't have to repair it or replace it. We had a wood fence that was all warped and had to repaint it all the time. We replaced it with a beautiful vinyl fence ourselves and love it. We'll NEVER have to paint the fence again! Whoot! =D
Here is the site we used for vinyl fence - we installed it ourselves and while it was hard work, it was easy to do. We chose the narrow picket.
Installing a vinyl fence isn't complicated; the biggest part of the work is digging all the holes for the posts. It's a good idea to have an assistant so one person can hold the post while the other pours the cement. I'd also recommend using panels that slide into slots on the posts, not the kind that need metal brackets. Those will require a lot more work (drilling holes, screwing the brackets in, etc) and will be harder to keep even. Not only that, the panels with brackets won't be as sturdy, and you have to worry about rust.
If you use a string to mark off the outline of the fence you should be able to keep it straight.
I think along with a profession contractor you can install your vinyl perfectly and without any hassle. Before 3 month I was installed my vinyl fence from Vinyl Fence Dallas and they provide good service for vinyl installation.
You can DIY vinyl fencing. You will find a kit along with vinyl fences. Assemble them according to manufacturer’s instructions. Snap the ends of the top and bottom rails into the appropriate holes on the fence posts. Easy to install and also it is durable.
