I didn't reply to this originally - I thought a plate rack was basically just a narrow shelf with a groove in it for the plate to rest in. I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

I would be interested in seeing the wooden plates, they would be very rare! Post pictures please. Maybe this should be on the wood turning forum. LOL :+

    HI,
I don't know about rare. I turned some for my brother. He is into the Rennasance Faires. Runs shows at 5 of them. Anyhow, made them from hard maple, stackable, and same size as a dinner plate.

Here's a link to one that David Marks made on his DIY show:

Woodmannie, everyone jumping in with different comments is what makes this forum.

And yes I was joking about the wood plates, that is why I ended my comment above with LOL :+

Feel welcome to jump in and comment on anything I write here anytime!:)

    RE: plans for plate rack

I wound up designing my own. My wife had a specific place for it, and I couldn't find anything either built or in a plan that was anything close. It is 3 shelves, holds 9 dinner plates, about 48" x 48". I mounted it with 4 double-screw keyhole mounts, one at each corner.
