I'm building an outdoor cabinet and because there is not enough room in front of the cabinet for swinging doors I'd like to use dual sliding doors where one slides over the other(with slide on top of door). My cabinet will be approximately 4' wide but I can adapt it to the hardware length if necessary.
Any idea where I can find this type of hardware or even what the precise name is so I can search?
What you are describing is exactly what I have on 2 of my bedroom closets. 4 foot openings with 2 overlapping offset doors that will reveal about half the closet at a time if you slide one door in front of or behind the other.
Maybe you could do a search for closet door hardware?
I used this Stanley hardware for by-passing closet doors. Home Depot carried it in different lengths and capacities. Is set up for two different door thicknesses, easy to install. I think the set was under $20.00.
