I have an old Walker Turner woodworking lathe that's not in a very good state. I want to restore it but as far as I can tell the company doesn't exist any longer so here I am looking for help. Does anyone know where I can get information or spareparts for my lathe?
Restoring old tools is a great way to end up with something better than you can buy today. But, it is filled with the need to be creative in how you do it. I don't think you will find any "Walker Turner" parts.
But, I doubt that you will have to have anything from them to do this task.
There is a great artical on rebuilding a Walker Turner Bandsaw in the Feb 1993 issue of Fine Woodworking. Issue 98. This issue is out of print, but you should be able to find it at your local library.
The Aurthor goes though the steps required to rebuild almost any major tool.
Most of the things that you will need new will be standard lathe tools.
Email me if you can't find the artical and I will see what I can do.
