I would like some advice regardng wood fillers. I have a large slab of oak that I am making into a coffee table, however it has some reasonably large cracks in it (about 200 mm long x 10 mm at the widest section.
Id like to fill this with some kind of clear resin product, but I cant find anything suitable.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I, too, think it's a risk. You could dado the shelves in, but only glue them on the back (or front, or maybe middle) 1/4 or so of the joint. That would leave the balance of the wood free to move. If...
